ANNIE uses the methods of discrete differential geometry to perform multi-physics simulations of neural networks and their components at scale. ANNIE converts realistic geometry to physical forces on biological materials, so you can easily control astrocyte leaves and single synapses on spines and the tips of dendrites.

Partitioned neuron from a tracing, ready for physical materials

Partitioned neuron imported to any popular CAD tool or finite element simulator
(Salome / FreeCAD / OpenSees / FEnICS / MOOSE / Elmer)

Tip of a partitioned dendrite with materials and boundaries, ready for stimulation.
ANNIE scales over 8 orders of magnitude, from whole brain volume conduction to tiny patches of membrane.
ANNIE provides automated end-to-end workflows from digitized tracings to visualized simulation results.
ANNIE is free and open source.
